2012 was a huge year for us with getting married and being able to celebrate that awesome time with some of our closest family and friends. Because of that, for our first ever Christmas & Hanukkah card Gus and I felt little need to send an “update” on our lives as everyone knows our biggest great news of the year!

Since we still wanted to do something, we opted to do something special, albeit a little quirky and alternative. We hand-selected our favorite photos of our friends and family that came to the wedding and had them printed for each person. Mostly not pictures of us but pictures of them as they were so many amazing moments our photographers captured. We placed a handful in a 4×6 glassine envelope and sealed them with a custom-designed label which served as our holiday card message.

Since many people we know barely got to see the pictures from our big day, let alone had any printed ones of their own, we loved this card idea for this year because we knew we’d be giving our loved ones something special that they could enjoy as soon as they opened the envelope.

I loved how these turned out so much that I am planning to offer custom-designed labels for the holidays next year in the shop. Can’t wait to share this fun idea with more folks in 2013!

What was the best Christmas/Holiday card you received this year and why?

The best card we received had photos of our friends and their son, and had a small caption of where the photo was taken. It also had a New Year’s greeting. It was sharp, upbeat and different. I loved it!
